They offer a variety of preschool camps, as well as a variety of day camps for kids ages 5 – 9th grade. Campers will enjoy plenty of fresh air, arts and crafts, day trips, beach days, sports, games, and so much more!
Tahoe Summer Camps

Tahoe Summer Camps offers something for every Truckee kid! Their programs are guided by professional educators, artists, wilderness experts, climbers, and pro-athletes, encouraging kids to step outside their comfort zones and try something new. Art-loving kids will love camps like Performing Arts, Arts and Adventure, and Advanced Blacksmithing, while adventurous campers will definitely enjoy Intro to Backpacking, Rock Climbing, Mammoth Expeditions, White Water Rafting, and more! Camp Donner Summit is part of Gateway Mountain Center, an organization with a firm belief in getting kids outside and exploring for their own health. The Camp Donner Summit Adventure Camp comes packed with adventures like Sierra Nevada granite climbs, kayaking, rafting, and so much more. Led by dedicated Wilderness First Aid certified guides and lifeguards, campers ages 4 to 15 will foster a deep connection to nature while learning about the natural sciences that surround us.

Wild Spaces Youth Summer Program is a branch of Friends of Tahoe Truckee Waldorf, an organization dedicated to enriching the educational summer camp experiences of local Truckee children. Their camps are ideal for children ages 4 through 9 and offer opportunities to experience the magic of nature hands-on. Younger kids will engage in playful exploration and nature-based activities and games. While older campers learn skills like archery, animal tracking, and dying textiles.
Piping Rock Horses

Piping Rock Horses offers week-long summer camps for kids ages 4 through 16. Everyone learns about horses and spends quality time with friendly animals. Like mini horses, lambs, goats, alpacas, and so many more! Campers will get to enjoy activities like learning basic horse handling skills, nature walks, gardening, and daily pony rides. Experienced riders 10 and up can join the Extreme Trail Camp to explore nearby trails on horseback.

Hosted by Headwaters Science Institute, Truckee Summer Science Camp gives kids ages 5 through 12 a variety of hands-on nature experiences designed for fun while exploring the area’s unique ecology. From hiking to splashing in the river, your child’s curiosity will pique as they learn about the science of water in Session 1 and animals and insects in Session 2. Additionally, older kids ages 13 – 15 can enjoy a Counselor-in-Training camp where they learn important leadership skills as they prepare to become counselors.
